NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – After a stellar individual performance, Temple’s Stephanie Pasquale (Pompton Lakes, N.J./Pompton Lakes) has been named the Atlantic 10 Conference Softball Player of the Week for the week ending April 7, 2013. Freshman Kelsey Dominik (Woolwich Township, N.J./Kingsway Regional) was also tabbed the A-10 Rookie of the Week.

Pasquale batted .682 (15-for-22) in a 5-1 week with four multi-hit games, five home runs, four doubles and 21 RBI. Perhaps most impressive was the day she had in a doubleheader sweep of Atlantic 10 foe St. Bonaventure. The junior went 9-for-9 with four homers, two doubles and 11 runs batted in. In a game against Wagner on Thursday, Pasquale recorded her 100th career RBI. In the second game of the twinbill against the Bonnies, the catcher set three Temple records, including single-season RBI, single-season doubles and career RBI.

Dominik earns the first ROW award of her career after hitting .333 (7-for-21) with three home runs and 10 RBI in the 5-1 week for the Owls. The right-handed pitcher also went 2-0 on the mound for TU, picking up victories against Wagner and St. Bonaventure. She tossed 12.1 innings while allowing 19 hits and six earned runs.
